LeRoi Moore, the 46-year-old, ultra-cool saxophonist of the Dave Matthews Band, died Tuesday following complications from an ATV accident that occurred on June 30 at his farm in VA. Moore was hospitalized briefly on the day of the incident and returned to his Los Angeles home for physical therapy, but on July 17 was readmitted to the hospital for reasons related to the accident.
Moore was classically trained but loved jazz and affected many of the band’s pieces with his improvisational talents. The band played on Tuesday evening, dedicating its show to Moore’s memory.
