It’s been a year since Bloc Party’s most recent album – “A Weekend In The City” – was released. However, Thursday marked the birth of the English post-punk revival band’s third album, “Intimacy.”

The new album was released digitally on Thursday through Blocparty.com for $10. It will be available in its physical form October 27 for $20, according to Bloc Party’s Web site.
The album’s sound is expected to be experimental and electronic, much like “A Weekend In The City’s” last single, “Flux.” However, singer Kele Okereke suggested in an online Web chat in July 2008 that the album would sound unlike anything they have done before.
“Mercury,” the disk’s first single, was released August 11, 2008 and uses mostly electronic instruments. The song also features Okereke’s voice electronically skipping throughout the chorus.
