It’s “cut or get cut” for 12 hairstylists on Bravo’s second season of Sheer Geniushosted by Jaclyn Smith. Similar to its famous older sister Project Runway, Sheer Genius hopes to find America’s best hairstylist.
In each episode the hopeful stylists compete in two challenges – the “Short Cut Challenge” which tests their technical skills and the “Elimination Challenge.” At the season’s completion one stylist will receive $100,000 from Nexxus, a chance to style hair for an Allure magazine feature and the ultimate title of “Sheer Genius.”
Excuse the pun but this show is sheer genius. It combines America’s lust for reality TV with our fascination of observing a skill that many of us do not possess. The constant drama and back stabbing from the competitors doesn’t hurt either.
To date, six of the 12 competitors have already been sent home. The remaining contestants are the most technically skilled and personable stylists of the bunch, save for Nekisa who has found herself in the bottom three every single episode. As for who will be in the final three, my vote goes to Daniel, Dee and Charlie.
To see who blows away the competition, watch Bravo Wednesday at 10 p.m. EST, 9 p.m. CDT.
