Coming off of the success of his last two films, everybody’s favorite 80s heartthrob Rob Lowe is set to begin filming his next movie “I Melt With You”. If you’re more of a John Stamos person — well, me too — but it won’t work in this context.
“Melt” will costar Lowe, Jeremy Piven and Thomas Jane (Boogie Nights, The Sweetest Thing, The Mist). The film will add to the list of more serious films for the 46 year old actor. Written by Mark Pellington and Glenn Porter, it promises to show us the darker side of male mid-life experiences. It will delve into the psyche of four men as they deal with such personal struggles like family issues and drug addiction.
Filming will begin next month in Big Sur, California for a budget of less than $1 million. Mark Pellington will also be directing. Lowe’s production company, Lowe Profile will be directing his other upcoming project “Telethon: An Evening for Bhutan”, but it is not yet known whether he will also be producing “Melt”.
