Positively Tried and Tested Tips for Tattoo Removal – Week 2

Posted on 31 Aug 2010 at 7:46pm

For those of you new to my blog (shame on you, ha!) click here to go to week 1 of my tried and tested tips for tattoo removal.

It’s week two in my endeavor, so here’s my update!

I think I was a little too excited for this to work huge miracles too fast!  I purchased the Wrecking Balm I recommended last week (even though the packaging reminds me of Ed Hardy…which isn’t a compliment…but I’ll give it a chance).  I still believe in the process, but I’m realizing that this may not be a weekly blog due to slower results.  You have to apply the Wrecking Balm every other day so I know I won’t see a difference for a while. Either way, here is my before picture:

In the box, you also receive a special exfoliating cream and a microdermic machine with two heads (but of course I lost one of the heads in first 48 hours, eeek!)  They also include a cream for after the treatment, along with a special concealer for if you really hate your tat! Here’s how to use it:

Step 1:  Clean the area.  If it’s a hairy area, best to shave it. Luckily for me, no shaving necessary.

Step 2:  Apply the exfoliating cream to the microderm and then put it on low (which is advised for the first few weeks).  Place it over your tattoo and make circular motions for 60 seconds. It doesn’t hurt, but it does become one of those annoying “ugh, this feels uncomfortable when will it stop…” kind of moments.   Wipe off the gel that is left.  I didn’t the first time and it got all over the back of my pants…not good!

I’ve done it three times this week and figure that with a little patience, it will be gone soon. I figure summer is nearly over, so by next summer when I’m bikini ready again I’ll be tattoo free.

As promised, here are two of my other tattoos which I LOVE and will not be getting rid of!

Award Season Mania

Posted on 31 Aug 2010 at 7:20pm

Tony’s, Emmy’s, Grammy’s, VMA’s, CMA’s… Award season gives us a lot to look forward to. From seeing all our favorite celebs dressed to impress all in the same place to finding out who takes home the trophy this year, these upcoming events are always entertaining to watch (even when we’re not invited.)

The 2010 Emmy Awards have been much anticipated this year especially with hit new shows such as Glee and Modern Family added to the competition.

Hollywood literally rolled out the red carpet for Sunday’s Emmy’s which was hosted by Late Night star and SNL alum Jimmy Fallon. I most enjoyed the star-studded opening number, the fabulous fashion and Glee to dominate this year!

Mark your calendars country music fans, because the 2010 CMA Awards will be  November 10, 2010 and back by popular demand the event will be hosted by Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley for the third year in a row. Special performances will include Kid Rock and Martina McBride.

The 2010 MTV Video Music Awards will be bigger than ever this year!

On September 12, 2010 our favorite sassy comedian Chelsea Handler (Chelsea Lately) will host the VMA’s live from Los Angeles.

The star-studded list of performers include: Drake, Justin Beiber, Eminem, Kanye West, and  B.o.B.

The two major contenders battling out for the most ‘moon man’ awards this year will be the fierce duo: Lady Gaga and Beyonce. I’m going to go with GaGa this year!

Happy Awards Season!

Positively Strapless Secrets

Posted on 31 Aug 2010 at 7:08pm

Back-bearing dresses are beautiful and very much in style.

But they also pose the annoying task of going bra-less. And for some of us, that is simply not an option. The strapless bra is great for underneath shoulder-bearing dresses and tops, but when it comes to backless it is hard to find a bra that won’t show!

A red-carpet look is never complete if your ‘girls’ don’t look good too!  Whether you want an extra boost or support, these great new products work wonders to keep you perky and poised.

If you are already have a perky set, consider yourself lucky. Even so, you still might want to consider wearing nipple covers to make for a smoother silouette, but also to prevent anything from slipping out.  Beautiful You Breast Petals, will run you about $10 and are discreet under any outfit.

If you’re looking for a little boost in the chest department, you can still have your chicken cutlets! NuBra makes a sticky silicone gel bra, for about $40, that pads and pushes you up at the same time. However, from experience this bra works best on breasts smaller than a C cup, or else the result is not very flattering.

A larger rack requires a little support. Sassybax boasts that their Very Bare Backless bra, $78, is a favorite of stars such as Cameron Diaz and Jennifer Lopez and works for sizes AA to DD! Their bras come in black or nude and have the look of a strapless bra, but with sticky tabs on the side to hold everything in place.

If you’re looking for a little lift, products like Bare Lifts and Liftys have been featured on television from informercials to the Today Show and promise to give you the look of a breast lift without the pain or the price of surgery. Essentially, it is ‘bra tape’ you use to adjust your breasts in place where you want them. Sound strange? Well, just check out the infomercial! They can cost from $10 to $20 and are transparent for an invisible look under a dress.

Now you can rock that backless look and stand confident (shoulders back, chest out!)  For the best prices, check out Amazon.com to order:
