This week I attended the Los Angeles Fashion District during Market. Many of you may be wondering what exactly a market is. Is it a fashion show? Can I attend? Well, you’re in luck because I have all the details for you!
Market happens all over the country during different times of the year but the big shows are in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and New York (You can kind of think New York Fashion Week) — But during market all the buyers of clothing stores (department stores to boutiques) come and buy all the clothes for their stores during this time.
Let me tell you I had so much fun going in and out of all the showrooms finding out all the fall trends and what new lines buyers are loving and cannot live without!
While I was doing some research (shopping) I was seeking lines that weren’t overly worn and publicized, but rather new or up-and-coming clothing lines.
For me personally, I love having clothes that no one has and that are unique and different from everyone else. I’m not talking over-the-top and gaudy but rather timeless pieces that I can wear year-after-year, and they never go out of style.
I found one showroom called the Ginger Showroom that I absolutely fell in love with every line that was in there, down to every single piece of clothing I saw. This showroom is a definite one-stop-shop if I were a boutique owner. It has everything from hip, cool and trendy items to chic timeless pieces.
In the Ginger Showroom I found these fantastic lines that you must have!
Charlie Jade – “A contemporary dress collection that was created with the more ‘budget-conscience’ fashionista in mind”. Charlie Jade is designed by Angie Gabriel, a young designer born and raised in California.
Angie’s passion for bold and playful prints help create flirty attention grabbing dresses.
“The Charlie Jade concept is all about well constructed feminine silhouettes in high quality fabrics such as silks, cottons and fine knits that are affordable.”
Smitten – “The Smitten design studio is inspired by the romance images from comic books from the 1940’s and 50’s. The classic American images stemming from this period influence the designers season after season.”
An eye catching collection made up of slouchy sweaters and tees, embellishments, leathers and suede’s add to a twist to the collection making the past feel new again. “You will be Smitten!”

Primrose – Born in Vietnam and raised in Los Angeles, designer Phuong Tran incorporated her love for both art and fashion into her design aesthetic.
Her debut collection Primrose is a “smart, chic, bohemian collection for the contemporary woman.The timeless and refined dresses, tunics and tops within the collection, aim to preserve a woman’s femininity and charm while easing the gap between work and play.”

Eyelid – ERGE Designs, a fashion leader in the contemporary market, is proud to announce the launch of their new division “Eyelid”.

Beth’s Addiction – Unique, creative, witty, artistic, bohemian…these are all words that have been used to describe Beth’s addiction jewelry and it’s creator Beth Sahinalp.
Beth credits her Czech ancestry and her numerous antique dealing relatives introducing her to the love of old things and the importance of the stories of their past. All of these loves are apparent in her colorful combinations of vintage charms, lockets, chains and amulets.
I’m sure you now realize just why I fell in love with these clothing lines, and I’m sure you’re thinking “how can I get my hands on some of these amazing pieces?!”
Although us normal shoppers can’t go into these showrooms and buy clothing for ourselves (unless we own a business and have a wholesale license) I do have a little secret on how you can visit these showrooms and get the clothes right off the showroom racks. I will be revealing that later in the week!
