Positively Refreshing and Hydrating Secrets5 Comments

As I was going through my bathroom supplies, I found that I had four different face sprays and mists, and that I use all four differently. Do I really need four? YES and here’s why:

I’ll start with my simplest — my Evian Brumisateur Mineral Water.

This is a necessity in every persons bag during heat waves, summer and while on vacation. It’s fab to cool down the whole body, and the balance in minerals soothes sensitive skin. It’s just refreshing and feels good.  It’s available at Amazon for $15 for 14 oz.

A very similar product I discovered is Avène Thermal Spring Water ($11.50).

It’s bottled directly from the source, thus preserving all its properties. I was recommended this by my dermatologist to keep my face hydrated while on Accutane (which is basically an acne treatment that sucks all the moisture out, leaves you with dry skin and even drier lips).

But Avene Thermal Spring Water saved me. I also love love love to pair this with Avene Extremely Gentle Cleanser ($22) and Make-Up Remover.

I little secret…I am SO that girl that goes to bed with her make-up on. Yes, I admit…I am very lazy at night.   I also am a bit weird  in the fact that when I wash my face, I like to do it in during my daily shower instead of leaning over my sink.

I love this gentle make-up remover because when you put it on a cotton ball and rub it gently over your eyes and face, it gets all the dirt and make-up off without needing to rinse!   This is where the water spray comes in — with a quick squirt, that seals the deal to a gorgeously clean face without any rigorous scrubbing.  All Avene products are available here.

My two last products are both Jurlique. Jurlique is one of my top three favorite beauty brands. I use their Lavender Hydrating Mist and Rosewater Balancing Mist.

I must have one in my purse and one at my desk at all times!  In Jurlique’s words “A hydrating mist, rich in the living energy of rose (or lavender) and marshmallow to restore, tone and hydrate. Leaves the skin balanced and refreshed. Ideal for maintaining balance” and they couldn’t be more right. It does all of that and more!

I use them whenever I get hot, bothered or sweaty. I also use it to seal my make-up that I just applied, or when my skin feels dry and dull.  It’s even great for whenever you need a little boost.  Purchase it here for $21.

Here are some additional tips on how I use all four of these products:

On clean dry skin I spray my face before applying moisturizer, as it really helps the cream absorb. If you’re wearing heavy make-up, it’s the perfect solution to set or refresh it. The beauty about these products is they have a fine spray so it just glides on. Excited to hear about you trying it!
