Yes, the holiday season is upon us and I LOVE IT! I love buying gifts, and I love getting gifts. This year I actually celebrated Hanukkah for the first time. My sister is here from London with her fiance, so we celebrated it with my brand new nephew and new family whom I also love. This was fantastic, as it meant gift time!
I lucked out and got the last pair of leopard print Keds for my sister, which I knew she would really be into. The Rose Horns (my sis and her fiance) got me a Marc by Marc Jacobs bag and a necklace with a wishbone pendant. I am so grateful and so happy…and it’s not even Christmas yet! But ok, ok…enough about me and all my gifts! Let’s get to back to business for my latest blog: Positively Great Gift Ideas!
My duty? To give you some great gift ideas in the weeks coming up to the holidays. Ideas that you will maybe ask for, or ideas that you will maybe purchase for others. Let’s just call them a few of my favorite things.
During all the holiday festivities, you eat a LOT. Well, I do anyways. So I think this first gift is great because it’s chocolate, but instead of going “a minute on the lips, a lifetime on the hips” it’s more of a “15 minutes on the face and a week of soft skin.”
I’m talking about a Cocoa and Oats Face Mask by Anthology. It’s all natural and organic, and smells so scrumptious. Check out http://www.anthologyplace.com for all their delicious organic products, but lemme tell you, the Chocolatier Face mask is a winner!
It’s only $13.75 and the small pot lasts ages. It’s all powder so all you do is add a little water and voila, chocolate all over your face. It left my face so incredibly soft and smelling deliciously edible, which always helps to get extra kisses from the beau.
My second gift idea is an incredible Color Wheel Eye Shadow Palette. Stila has created a fantastic palette in an array of colors — 37 different eye shadow colors and 2 double ended brushes. As if that weren’t enough, there’s a 16-page look book to help inspire you and get you motivated to try all the looks.
They also have really useful tips and advice; I learned how to open up my eyes using eye shadow colors and shading. I have very small deep-set eyes, so I would never put dark shadows on my lids because I feared my eyes would disappear. But with this palette, I amazed myself at my skills! I was literally red carpet ready in only 15 minutes.
This item is such a great gift – it’s worth 750 bucks to me, but retails at only $38! I would give this gift to my 14-old sister, but I’d also give it to my friend who is a make up artist, as Stila has a reputation for a really high-end and quality product. This gift is great for ladies of all ages! Check out the palette at http://www.stilacosmetics.com.
My third and final gift idea is a great one for not only the holidays, birthdays or hostess gift. It’s only $10, so I keep about five of them in my gift drawer at home, just in case I’m every in a bind to come up with a fast gift. (And yes, I really have a gift drawer – I love being at a place in my life where I have a drawer dedicated to only gifts/cards and ribbon!)
This gift is a very delicious smelling candle by Farmers Market Candle. With over 20 delicious smelling candles, these candles are 100% soy and even when not lit, will make your room smell so amazing. I have one by my bed…and can you guess what scent? YEP, lavender! You know that’s my fave. I don’t even have to light it — I just let it whiff over to me.
And the beauty of these candles? The price! Seriously, at only $10, what a bargain! There are just too many scents to mention – truly a smell for everyone’s taste buds. My top five faves would have to be Fig Rose Black Pepper, Pear Lily, Lavender Rosemary, Mint Eucalyptus and Jasmine Ylang. This special gift is fantastic for everyone — from a work colleague, girlfriend, mom, grandmother or even a mother-in-law. Check out all the amazing scents at http://www.thefarmersmarketcandle.com/.
