There’s a new trio of crime-fighting hotties reporting to Charlie, including girl-of-the-moment Minka Kelly.
The former Friday Night Lights star is currently Esquire’s ‘Sexiest Woman Alive’, and she’s starring in The Roommate, in theaters next weekend. Next up? Minka has signed on for ABC’s new spin-off of Charlie’s Angels, to be produced by former Angel Drew Barrymore! According to Deadline Hollywood, the role of the Marisa, a former Marine weapons expert, will be re-named, re-written and tailored perfectly to Minka.
Alongside Minka will be gorgeous blonde Aussie Rachael Taylor as Abby, a con artist and Krav Maga expert. What is Krav Maga, you ask? According to it’s Wikipedia page, it’s a ‘hand-to-hand combat system developed in Israel…known for it’s extremely brutal and efficient counter-attacks…” (Krav Maga made headlines recently when Ashton Kutcher told Men’s Fitness magazine that learning Krav Maga was part of his preparation to defend and save his family during the end of the world).
Rachael Taylor’s most memorable role to date was a small part in Transformers in 2007, but her newest role is on Grey’s Anatomy as Dr. Lucy Fields.
Annie Ilonzeh was the first of the ladies to be cast, and will star as Kate. She’s best known for her time spent on General Hospital, but has also been seen on Entourage.
The newest installment of Angels will take on crime in Miami. What do you think of the new cast, and location? If the pilot is half has good as these girls are gorgeous, the show could be a breakout hit for ABC during the 2011-12 television season.
