Greetings my beauty junkies! The title of my latest blog sounds too good to be true, right? Well, my lovelies…I would never lie to you. Beauty isn’t all about expensive products, going to the spa and spending bucket loads of money. Yeah, the products help and some are even quite revolutionary, but there are a few tricks that don’t involve your wallet.

Two weeks ago was “All Star Weekend” in Los Angeles where I was lucky enough to emcee Snoop Dogg’s basketball tournament with the amazing actor from The Hangover, Ken Jeong. It was a tastemakers tournament with teams like Undefeated, Skullcandy and The Westcoasters (which was Snoops team with The Game, Chris Brown, YG and Percy).

To cut a long story short, the event went incredibly.  Afterwards we had Snoops party at the Standard and low and behold, I finally went to bed at 8 am. Considering I woke up at 8 am the previous day, that’s a whole 24 hours of having a blast! Yep, I am a ROCKSTAR! I haven’t stayed up that late in a long time. The next night, I slept 15 hours, because obviously I quite needed it.

When I woke up to get ready for a meeting, I looked in the mirror and my eyes were so incredibly puffy because of TOO much sleep. Eva Mendes can never look bad…but if you see how puffy her eyes are here…well, mine were 20 times worse.

This was too much puff even for my expensive Jurlique eye cream. (Jurlique Purely Age-Defying Eye Cream 0.5 oz Eye Cream www.jurlique.com)

So, my first FREE tip I’ve actually known about forever but forgot about it until that morning – and it sure did come in handy…and all you need is two spoons!

USE SPOONS TO DE-PUFF YOUR PUFFY EYES

**Take two metal spoons and put them in the freezer.  An extra tip is to wet them first so you get a layer of ice formed on the cold metal. Leave them in the freezer until you need them, it’s so perfect for de-puffing the eyes.  You lay down and put a spoon on each eye, which funny enough, fits pretty perfectly over your eyelid. Lay for 10 minutes letting them do their magic.

While you’re there, you might as well tell the universe where you want your day to go.  When you take the spoons off, your eyes will be vibrant and your skin nice and tight – try it!

TAKE ICE COLD SHOWERS

**My next tip is also on the cold side. You may hate me for it, but ice cold showers are good for you for so many reasons. Let me start by saying I am definitely a hot shower freak. Even in the height of summer, I still love to take hot baths. It took me a while to get into cold showers, but when I saw the benefits I now make the last five minutes of every shower freezing cold.

The biggest benefit is that washing your hair with cold water locks in the color and encourages shine. My hairdresser told me that because I always used to complain that my hair color faded too soon. Since I’ve been rinsing with cold, it’s changed my color longevity so much.

Another benefit to taking a cold shower (especially if you change it from hot to cold midway through) is that it closes all your pores and tightens your skin. When you shower in heat, it opens up all your pores — so this is the best time to do your eyebrows and the hairs just fall out. The cold water then closes your pores and you can feel your skin tighten immediately.

Doing this daily is just as good as all those skin firming creams you’re buying! I personally think that using the cold shower technique and the fancy firming cream is #winning!!
