Well known for his velvet voice and for collaborating on numerous hip hop and R&B tracks, singer Nate Dogg died in Long Beach, CA, last night after battling health issues for several years.

Nate Dogg appeared on Eminem’s 2006 track, “Shake That.”

What a fun, ride-around-with-your-windows-down hit was the Houston and Nate, 2004 single, “I Like That!”

We had grown to know and love Nate Dogg for helping our favorite rappers make hits, but Nate had a couple solo successes of his own. “Nobody Does It Better” and “Never Leave Me Alone,” both from his G-Funk Classics Volume 1 & 2, charted on Billboard’s Hot 100.

Another throwback for you…Ludacris and Nate in their 2001 jam, “Area Codes.”

And here’s the classic that put Nate on the music industry’s radar. Regulatooooooooors! Mount up!

With his soulful sound, Nate shaped the trends of West Coast rap and hip hop in a unique way that can never be duplicated.
