Hello hello my beauty enthusiasts! Lately I’ve been writing a lot about nail care — mostly because I found my nail guru Naja and she introduced me to a world of no dry time, original designs and no CHIPS! I’ve discovered solid gold MINX that lasts 18 days, Shellac no chip beautiful red color that seemed to last forever, OPI gel in a fun glitter that I kept for over a month, and most recently, I got custom made MINX heat transfers in Adidas’s honor.
I didn’t think my nails could get any stronger, until …
I went in to see Naja at her salon Extremedys, and really just planned to do a normal manicure with my favorite color by OPI “You Don’t Know Jacques.” I love the color but I’m still bothered by the long dry time and how it will only last a week.
That’s when Naja smiled and said, “OPI Axxium Gel now comes in your favorite color!” I almost screamed with delight. Finally, my fave shade that I know will never chip or dent or crack…two whole weeks of perfect manicure heaven. OH MY DAYZ…Bring it on!
Naja was not lying — it was perfect. She applied one layer of the gel with a paint brush (with an application so precise and beautiful) and then I put that hand under the special UV light while she did my other hand. Another coat was applied on each hand, and then another round of UV light. Finally, she put on a top coat and that was it!
OPI Axxium Gel really is too amazing. You can put your hand in your wallet, return those (important) texts, run your fingers through your hair and put on your shoes…pretty much instantly — all without messing up the expensive manicure you just paid for!
Now that my nails looked so good, I just had to do my feet. Naja gave me an amazing pedicure while I sat in her comfy massage chair enjoying a glass of Sangria. I was so relaxed. Her salon is incredibly quiet and the walls have the most amazing artwork (that I just found out she actually painted herself!) This is why I call her the nail guru — you get more than just a mani-pedi, you get a relaxing environment and truly great conversation.
Two weeks later, my nail cuticles were starting to show a bit on my hands, but on my feet not as much. The paint job still looked perfect though, so I decided to just go over my cuticles with the old school non-gel version of Jacques. It worked so good! That bought me another two weeks of perfect nails, and after a month they were longer and stronger. I can’t say enough about how much I love Axxium gel!
I will be getting this done all the time now, no question. It is so affordable, lasts a long time and for someone like me who just wants uniform, classy, clean and gorgeous nails…this is ideal.
