Childhood obesity has become an epidemic in this country, and Regis and Kelly are doing something about it!  Their show has called on the Superman-like strengths of marathon runner Dean Karnazes to raise awareness about childhood obesity.

Since February 25, Dean Karnazes, dubbed the ‘Ultramarathon Man,’ has been running across America, for up to fifty miles a day!  His trek across the country, kicking off in California and ending at Regis and Kelly’s studio in New York City, will take 75 days to complete.

Each town Dean will run through is documented on the site for Run Across America, so you can run with (or stand on the side of the road and cheer for) Dean when he’s in your town!  And hey, if you can’t make it, you can donate to Action for Healthy Kids.  That’s what ’Run Across America’ is all about; benefiting an organization to help fight childhood obesity.

Everyday you can check in with Dean’s ‘Run Across America’ to see where he’s at, read Dean’s blog, and see videos of each stop he’s made!  Click here to visit the Run Across America site, to help kids have a healthy future!
