I’m a big fan of glocal (global-local) produce, and at the moment I’m having a true love affair with beauty products from down under. If cosmetic brands were like potential lovers, I would be polyamorous. I fall in love with products from different ranges, but don’t remain faithful when the beloved purchase runs out!
There is so much on offer these days for every budget and I adore trying new potions. I go through phases of using really expensive products or reliable drug store favorites, but lately it seems every time I reach for my new bff-lotion it’s from the other side of the world.

The one thing I can’t live without right now is Lucas’ Papaw Ointment. This amazing remedy, made from papaya, has antibacterial and antimicrobial properties and helps with all sorts of things.
I slather it on my lips, use it for cuts, zits, scars, dry cuticles and even on my son’s eczema and dry patches. Naomi Watts, Whitney Port and Cate Blanchett always keep the iconic red tube in their make up purses. It is available to buy from thedrugdispensary.com.

Since having a baby, “beauty” sleep is no longer a luxury I can indulge in, so I was very grateful when my sister Emily Rose (Positively Celebrity beauty editor) sent me some Jurlique Age-Defying Facial Serum ($65). I would never have considered an anti-age serum but this one has got me hooked. I knew I was on to a good thing when the make-up artist on the film I was shooting last week remarked how bright and smooth my skin looked!
Jurlique products (loved by Julia Roberts) are grown and bottled on a farm in south Australia which preserves the optimum quality. I really appreciate the luxury texture of their Moisture Replenishing Day Cream. This rich moisturizer is infused with rosehip plant oil, chamomile, avocado and calendula. Even though it’s a day cream I have been using it every evening and it feels like a cashmere blanket on my skin after long day in full make up on set!

My other beauty secret is active Manuka honey. This healing superfood is amazing for you inside and out! It is a medicinal honey from the flower of the wild tea tree bush in New Zealand where it has been used for years to treat wounds. It really works wonders when applied directly to skin or taken internally.
I suck a spoonful whenever I need a sweet treat or am feeling under the weather. Widely available online and from health food stores, I cannot recommend this liquid gold enough. Please see http://www.activemanukahoneyusa.com for more details of benefits and where to purchase.

I am so convinced by these antipodean treatments that when I was in Whole Foods today and I saw a new range being put on the shelves I didn’t hesitate. The name of the brand is Antipodes! I got the Kiwi Seed Oil Eye cream ($46) and I will let you know how it goes…
I have a feeling this lust for products from down under will not fade away. I have many other beauty and baby purchases from all over the world to share with you. Please check back for more soon right here on Positively Celebrity!
