I recently did an underwater shoot for an amazing project I’m working on. As a certified advanced diver (my sister, Positively Celebrity writer Coralie Rose is one as well), I thought this would be a breeze because I’m so comfortable underwater.

Unfortunately, I was wrong! It went crazy well, but I have to admit it was so tiring. Having to hold your breath underwater and think of multiple poses is incredibly difficult. Luckily, I had the best photographer ever on hand to guide me through it all! I recommend that you shoot with Brandon Kuhn if you want some really unique photos. Check out his site at http://www.brandonkuhn.smugmug.com.
The shoot was also difficult because we shot in a saltwater pool. It was great on my eyes, but the salt sucks all the hydration out of your skin. If you’ve read my posts before, you’ll know that I’m already a very dehydrated individual…so the next day I was definitely in bad shape.
I woke up the next morning with low energy and my glands were swollen. It was such a hot day while shooting, so being in heat combined with being immersed under water for such long periods really got my body temp out of sync. As busy as we all are, I could not afford to get sick! After racking my brain for a solution, I suddenly remembered that I had some bath salts that I was waiting to use (and thank goodness I’m a junkie when it comes to matters of health and beauty)!

One of my parents best friends (who has known me since I was born) is a make-up artist to the stars. She launched a company in the UK called “INA Crystals”, a collaboration between Agent Provocateur perfumer Azzi Glasser and International make-up artist Mary Vango. Mary knows of my love of bath salts, so she kindly sent me some of the INA White Gold Detoxifying Crystal Salts with a note that said “Use the entire kilo of The Detox Crystal Bath if you’re feeling extremely stressed, unwell or needing a deep detox, however can also be used at 4 or 5 scoops at a time for health maintenance.” Well that time had come, Mary! I was definitely stressed and unwell, so I couldn’t wait to see how the salts worked.

According to INA Crystals, White Gold Crystal Salt is known for its healing and regenerative properties, and is regarded by Alchemists as the “fifth element.” The penetrating benefits of the salt along with the detoxifying blend of essential oils of basil, fennel and juniper have been proven to be equivalent to a 3-day detox. After reading that, I felt confident that this would save me from getting sick.

First, I ran a bath of hot water, poured out the full kilo of salts and let them dissolve completely. As they dissolved, I leaned over the bath and let all the yummy smells of essential oils fill my lungs and even got a quick steam on my face. Once dissolved, I ran the rest of my bath and stayed in there for a full 30 minutes.
I love baths and this one was no different. I smelled so amazing as I got out and my skin was glowing. When I went to bed that night, my glands were swollen, I had a sore throat and was feeling exhausted. But when I woke up, I felt completely energized, refreshed and well again! These salts are absolute miracle workers and I recommend them to anyone who wants to detox but doesn’t have three days to do it.
I’m so excited by this line that I’m currently using the White Gold Glow Face Wash and the White Gold Radiant Skin Tonic (photos above). The beauty about these products is they are an incredible value for the money. The Bath Salts retails at 45 pounds in the UK, which is approximately 75 bucks here in the U.S. For a wellness/ detox treatment (that actually works), I think the price is very fair.
I also used the whole kilo because I was so sick, but you can use it as maintenance in your baths and only use a few scoops (thus making the product last longer). For more information on INA Crystals, please visit http://www.inacrystals.com.
