Undoubtedly, Ryan Seacrest and Andy Cohen are two of the biggest names in television production.  Ryan Seacrest sits at the head of the Kardashian empire as the executive producer of Keeping Up With the Kardashians on E! (as well as all of the Kardashian spin-offs), The Dance Scene, I Kid With Brad Garrett, Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve, Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution, and the list goes on!

Andy Cohen hardly needs an introduction, as the man behind Bravo’s hit Real Housewives franchise, The Millionaire Matchmaker, The Rachel Zoe Project and Project Runway.  What, you ask, would possibly happen if these two television superpowers were to unite?  Well, I’ll tell you.

Shahs of Sunset.  What the what?  Andy Cohen made the announcement last week on On Air With Ryan Seacrest. Andy described the show; “The series follows a group of young Persian-American friends — and this is a community that exists all over the place, but if you live in LA you know that the Persian-American community is really strong.”

Okay, I’m from Pennsylvania and we don’t have the most diverse population here.  I wanted to clarify what a Persian-American was, and my Google results say that it is an Iranian-American, and that Shah was the title of Iranian kings.  Okay, now this is making sense to me.

“It’s really family oriented. It’s really affluent. This is a really cool, fun, funny group of people you brought to us Ryan, and I’m hoping that this is going to be our next big docu-series, and something that we’re going to be doing for a while!” Andy added.  Very interesting!  My guess?  Sounds like another version of the Kardashians, with a dash of Jersey Shore, and maybe adding in the exoticism of their Iranian traditions.  I love it already!

No airdate has been announced, but will you watch Shahs of Sunset when it airs on Bravo?  Leave us a comment below!
