Positively Best Groupon Deals0 Comments

Greetings my beauty enthusiasts! Last week I had a long debate at a dinner party about Groupon. FYI, I think Groupon is fantastic! The most incredible deals around and with companies I know of…can’t get better than that. But, it seemed at my dinner party that not everyone agreed.

One of my friends said it was fantastic for meal deals and getting half price offers, but she wouldn’t trust any sort of medical or beauty treatment offer. Most of the others seemed to agree with her. The main reason is because they felt that if they were making the price so low, they will either give you a beginner technician or you won’t get full treatment.  One friend even joked you may only get half the chemicals in the peel, lol…but nonetheless it got me thinking about it all.

On one hand, I can see how they’d think that. I’ve never done laser hair removal on Groupon simply for that reason. I just don’t feel comfortable working with a company that hasn’t been recommended if I’m going to take a laser to my face. But then my friend Tehmina informed me that Dermabare was on Groupon. They had already been doing some of my laser hair removal, so you can imagine how excited I was to find out I could now get a better deal. And apart from last week where the nurse burned me a bit with the laser, I don’t have any complaints.  I have the hairiest arms and I hate them, so tackling that is next on my list. I’ll be using Groupon this time, so I’ll do a tried and tested blog for you to tell you how it goes!

I also absolutely love massages and foot massages. Add reflexology in there, and you have me hooked! I saw a post on Groupon for a 40-minute foot massage plus 20-minutes of upper body massage for only $25 at Bao of Beverly Hills Spa. I had to check it out, so here’s my review:

When I arrived at Bao of Beverly Hills, I was greeted by a wonderful smile. The location is small, very clean and quiet. I took a seat in a very fancy chair and and my feet were put in a bucket of hot water. Then I was given a very warm and cozy blanket while the chair leaned slightly. The masseuse gave me the most incredible head and shoulder  massage ever! He had a very light touch but firm grip.  I could really feel my cranium being moved while he got under the pressure points. INCREDIBLE! And all this in first 10 minutes.

He then applied a lovely smelling face mask to my face, leaned my chair back a little more and started on my feet. The masseuse did the perfect balance of feel good massage and do good massage. What do I mean by that? If you are as stressed as me, getting a massage over knots really hurts. It’s more of a pleasure pain so it doesn’t necessarily feel good, but it does good. He actually managed to do both so I was very pleased.  My experience ended with a final upper body rub down.

This is the first Groupon test I’ve done, but I can say it was a total success! If you’re in Los Angeles, definitely look out for Bao Spa on Groupon again. They were so good, I would highly recommend it even without the deal. For more info, check out their website at www.baofootspa.com.
