Kristen Aldridge
Publisher / Managing Editor

Entertainment Journalist Kristen Aldridge is founder of Positively Celebrity. Armed with a laptop computer, some crazy-ambitious ideas, an extreme excitement over html and a few too many double espressos, Kristen created the online magazine to share her love of pop culture with the world.
In addition to her duties as publisher and managing editor, Kristen is also a major contributor to the website, writing daily feature stories on everything from movies and music to fashion and TV.
Her interest in entertainment journalism began early on. A self-professed “pop culture junkie”, Kristen discovered Entertainment Tonight on television when she was 12 and her dream of becoming an entertainment reporter was born. Yep, she was hooked.
With a naturally inquisitive nature and energetic personality, the dream job of an entertainment reporter seemed a perfect fit. While growing up in St. Paul, Minnesota, Kristen did anything she could to get her questions answered about TV journalism.
As a teenager, she would often pretend her hair brush was a microphone to practice her interviewing skills on a mock red carpet in the family room (embarrassing to admit, but so true). In high school, Kristen wrote for the school newspaper and after countless hours bugging her journalism teacher with still more questions, he decided to make her T.A. Kristen’s tenacity and ability at getting the “inside scoop” was just starting to pay off.
After majoring in Broadcast Journalism at The University of St. Thomas, Kristen packed her bags into the family’s red pick-up truck and moved to Los Angeles to pursue her entertainment career. With hard work, loads of determination and a little luck, she got hired as an entertainment reporter for a local TV show and that mock red carpet from the family room finally became a reality.
Now a seasoned on-camera television personality, Kristen Aldridge has gotten the scoop directly from Hollywood’s biggest stars. Some of the celebrities she has interviewed include director Oliver Stone, Anthony Hopkins, Liza Minnelli, Samuel L. Jackson, Jennifer Hudson, Ryan Gosling, Anne Hathaway, Jared Leto, Richard Dreyfuss, Ben Affleck, Ryan Reynolds, Jessica Biel, Jon Voight, AFI, Alicia Keys and 30 Seconds to Mars to name a few.
Currently Kristen Aldridge can be seen by sports fans across the country as co-host of “ESPN Road Trip”. The ESPN series gives college football fans a look at the rituals, revelry and rivalries that seize college campuses each week. ESPN Road Trip joins a growing lineup of ESPN Original Digital series on ESPN.com, with videos viewed monthly by fans an average of more than 120 million times.
While working in Los Angeles, Kristen was entertainment reporter for Your LA on NBC and writer / producer / reporter for the nationally syndicated Hollywood Previews. In 2007, Kristen joined the CNN family as anchor for their premiere broadband news service, CNN Pipeline.
Soon Kristen Aldridge caught the eye of Hollywood heavyweights Cynthia Biamon (co-founder of Leonardo diCaprio’s production company and former manager of Cameron Diaz) and Bradley Cramp (executive producer of Lord of War with Nicolas Cage and Simone with Al Pacino). Out of hundreds of applicants, they hired Kristen to host AT&T U-Verse Buzz, an entertainment news program seen across the country, where she got the chance to cover the red carpet for big name events like Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.
Other television hosting duties include AMC’s Date Night movie review, TLC’s Faking It, GO TV Network’s entertainment news program Bottom Line, Etc. and pilots for MTV and The Travel Channel.
Kristen’s experience also extends behind the scenes. As a true “one-woman band”, Kristen recently wrote, produced, directed, hosted and edited several entertainment pilots that were sold to a local news affiliate in the Twin Cities.
This sealed her job as entertainment reporter for Metromix, a national youth-oriented listings site owned by Tribune and Gannett that receives nearly 20 million pageviews from over 2.0 million unique visitors per month. She has written over a hundred editorial reviews on the hottest restaurants, bars, clubs and events for the website, and her entertainment reports can be seen regularly on KARE 11 News.
In fact, Kristen Aldridge was just nominated for a regional Emmy for her work with Metromix and KARE 11 in the Arts/Entertainment category. Winners will be announced in October.
As an actress, Kristen has been featured in dozens of national commercials including Secret Deodorant (Academy Award Winning Director), Bud Light Beer (Super Bowl Spot), Mercedes-Benz and K-Swiss (with Anna Kournikova). She recently starred in “Two for Paula”, a romantic comedy feature film with 4-time Emmy nominee Marla Gibbs.
As a model, Kristen has been featured in print campaigns for Target, Nordstrom, Lily McNeal, and Schweppes Ginger Ale in Allure, In Style and US Weekly to name a few. She was also a semi-finalist in Maxim Magazine’s “Hometown Hotties” Search for the Sexiest Girl Next Door.
As a midwestern girl at heart, not much has changed since Kristen’s childhood growing up in the suburbs of Minnesota — she’s still asking lots of questions — only this time the microphone is real.
Our Talented Contributors

Judith Brown
Judith “Juice” Brown comes to us from Harrisburg , PA – the center of the universe…just after New York City, Los Angeles and Mayberry RFD. Juice enjoys writing on various subjects: celebrities (goes without saying), health care (‘cause it pays the bills) and anything else at which she can make a buck…which is good since she writes out a lot of checks, though that’s another talk show. Her past life includes singing, acting and dancing. What’s that saying? ‘Those who can’t make a living at it write about those who have.’ Or something like that.

Kelly Jo Mitchell
Kelly Jo Mitchell grew up in a small town in the Midwest that doesn’t have any stoplights, touched Elton John’s pink snake-skinned shoes and almost cried, ate rice, bread and fried bananas with Sprite for more than a month while traveling throughout Kenya and, she is addicted to Craigslist. Kelly Jo will sing you a pretty song for candy. Check her out on her official website, myspace and flickr.

Michael Marino
From an early age, Michael and pop culture went hand in hand. He used to sing himself to sleep with “New York, New York.” No, seriously. His parent’s friends would call around bed time, asking “Is Michael singing yet.” He would take requests and always, always reminded everyone to tip their waitress. As he grew, so did his pop culture fascination. Branching out from Frank Sinatra, Michael’s musical tastes expanded. As did his film and television tastes. In high school, his male friends were able to memorize sports statistics at the drop of a hat. It seemed they knew everything about sports…ever. He didn’t understand how they did it and they, in turn, didn’t understand how he seemed to know who was in what film and what the latest Britney news was. His list of pop culture obsessions is longer than the list of Elizabeth Taylor’s husbands. Thanks for reading!

Randi L. Niklekaj
Randi recently graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in Broadcast Journalism. She studied in Italy her junior year for a semester and ended up falling in love with the country and the way of life. She also fell in love with a man and got married in December 2007. She loves traveling and adventure…and is still trying to adopt the Italian concept of “La Bella Vita” - The Beautiful Life. Italians believe in living a sweet, beautiful life and that means working to live, not living to work. She is also still trying to snatch her dream job: Entertainment Reporter or travel writer/editor/reporter. Someday soon…

Rohan Raj
An animated individual whose elevated taste tingles when inclined to stylish works from artists of progressive entertainment. Check him out on myspace.

Hilary Dickinson
During her stints writing for the Minneapolis Star Tribune and the Minnesota Daily, Hilary honed her journalism skills while maintaining her love for all things entertainment. She helped cover the 2008 Academy Awards and guest blogged for “American Idol” at the Star Trib. Previously she interviewed Academy Award-winning screenwriter of “Chinatown,” Robert Towne, and film critic of “Ebert & Roeper,” Richard Roeper. When not bringing you the hottest scoop on the TV and movie industries, Hilary studies journalism and film at the University of Minnesota.

Dillon Wallin
Born in Minnesota, raised in California (Calisotan? Minnefornian?), Dillon lives alternately in one or the other with his mind somewhere in between (Colorado?). Despite his degree in film production, he is interested in everything in the world equally. He firmly believes in karma, Indian food and Stanley Kubrick. In addition to writing about music, Dillon also likes to dance about architecture.

Sarah Boone
Meet Sarah Boone. Supposedly, every night she dreams like everyone else, but she never remembers her dreams - so she’s resolved to save her dreams for the day time. That’s where her passion for writing comes from, but she’s very happy to the have the exposure that comes with the writing about real life people for Positively Celebrity since putting dreams on paper only pays after a lot of practice and a lot of luck. Alas, she will keep struggling since she’s got the time. She enjoys (virgin) pina coladas - because she’s kind of young-ish, getting caught in rain (unless her notebooks get wet), and anything related to movies and theatre. She hopes that you like the spins that she puts on her articles. If you have any questions, praise, or lack thereof - or if you just want to hire her for being so skilled, you can contact her by email at sarah_e_boone@gmail.com.

Diana Richardson
Diana’s passion for TV and movies, combined with the fact that she can’t stop talking about either, has landed her the “Go To” girl label at work. She likes to stay positive because there are a lot of great creative ideas and projects out there in the biz and it’s all worth taking note of. She brings a little bit of an analytical style as well as a “what’s plain entertaining” style to her reviews and articles…she hopes that someone out there might actually be enjoying them (or just reading them).

Kelli Ruttle
The song that was Number 1 on the charts the week you were born is supposed to reveal the theme underscoring your entire life. Kelli’s was “Bette Davis Eyes.” Her friends have always told her she was born in the wrong era. Not because of her classic charm or wit. But because of her love for vintage clothing and her overuse of the statement “They just don’t make ‘em like they used to.”

Tiffany Wilbert
Our small-town sweetheart from eastern Wisconsin is the first member of her immediate family to experience more than rural-community living. She fell in love with city life while studying for her undergrad in magazine journalism at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities. While attending school she’s written for the university’s Wake Magazine and aspires to work for a fitness and/or women’s related publication. When she’s able to catch a break from her studies and campus jobs she can be found with friends or doing a variety of athletic activities. Check out some of the articles she wrote for the WAKE.

Ryan Malone
Ryan Malone is a prodigious, yet criminally underrated Mario Kart 64 player who enjoys movies, the Rolling Stones, and hammocks. A junior at Boston College, he also dabbles in what can technically be considered writing. Ryan hails from Plymouth, Minnesota, an area Money magazine recently declared is the best place to live in America, presumably because the Twins rule.

Lauren Baker
Lauren Baker hails from Minneapolis where she has learned to love the arts. An ideal evening would involve going to the Walker Art Center, checking out a concert at First Avenue, attending a modern dance show at The Southern Theater, or watching a Wes Anderson film. Lauren is in her senior year at the University of Minnesota where she is studying dance and journalism. Check out her own blog.

Kris McKusick
Kris has a fraternal twin brother, Geoff, who teaches 4th grade in Hopkins, Minnesota. Between attending classes at the University of Minnesota (Ok, he dropped out when he was twenty and reenrolled a decade later) and trying to get at least one of his two novels published (Hip Hop Diary, Hammond Man y’all big ups!), he finds time to contribute articles to this awesome website. Check him out on myspace.

Rae Holder
A lover of all things celebrity, Rae is a television enthusiast and a skilled dominator of the remote. She often finds herself distracted, wondering if Derek and Meredith are truly destined to be together. As for her own relationships, Rae simply asks herself, “What would Carrie Bradshaw do?”

Pamela Koller
Citizen of the world. Born in Brooklyn; lost in Minneapolis; one step ahead of the law. Check her out on Facebook.

Brit Larson
Brit Larson hails from the ‘frost-bitten center of America’s map’—Minneapolis, Minnesota. As a tabloid-junkie and pop-culture aficionado, it’s fitting that she has pursued a degree in PR and advertising at the University of Minnesota while writing for Positively Celebrity on the side. Aside from playing the role of a college senior, she’s expending her copious amount of energy running, laughing, baking to alleviate her sweet-tooth, trying to finish a book, devoting time to her ‘people’, or focusing too much on impending ‘real life’ after graduation. She is also interested in democratic policies, high fashion, and satisfying her vices. In the future, Brit hopes to improve her ability to make witty, off-the-cuff remarks.
