Positively New Years Resolutions: Celebrity Edition

By Hilary Dickinson | January 7, 2009

It’s now officially 2009, and you know what that means: New Year’s resolutions. But, we aren’t the only ones who make resolutions – celebrities do too. Most probably want to lose weight or quit smoking like most people do; but, here’s Positively Celebrity’s ideas for how celebrities can improve their lives and careers in 2009.

Expectant moms like Jennifer Garner and “Grey’s Anatomy’s” Chyler Leigh:

Name babies normal names instead of the crazy baby names of 2008 like Ashlee Simpson’s son, Bronx Mowgli, and Gwen Stefani’s son, Zuma Nesta Rock.

Screen Actors Guild members and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers:

Come to a resolution regarding DVD residuals and online video so there will not be another strike like the 100-day writer’s strike in late 2007 and early 2008 that halted production of scripted shows and brought an onslaught of tacky reality shows.

Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan:

Follow Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet’s lead in “Revolutionary Road” by reuniting one of America’s favorite on-screen couples.

Robert Pattinson and Zac Efron:

Take advantage of your fortunate successes of starring in 2008’s “Twilight” and “High School Musical 3” by not screwing up like many other young newly minted movie stars. Ahem Shia LaBeouf and Lindsay Lohan.

The “Friends” cast:

Reunite for a successful big-screen adaptation of their show like the women of “Sex and the City” did in 2008.

Shows like “Heroes” and “Grey’s Anatomy”:

Cut the convoluted and crazy storylines and remind us why we initially loved them.

Mike Myers, Al Pacino, Meg Ryan, Amy Winehouse, and Janet Jackson:

Plan a comeback for 2009. The kind of comebacks that Robert Downey Jr., Mickey Rourke, Tom Cruise, and Britney Spears all enjoyed in 2008.

Long time couples like Fergie and Josh Duhamel, Maggie Gyllenhaal and Peter Sarsgaard, Amy Adams and Darren Legallo, and Jennifer Love Hewitt and Ross McCall:

Get married in 2009 and upstage the 2008 nuptials of Beyoncé and Jay-Z, Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon, and Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds.

Positively Hottest Celebrity Trends of 2008

By Randi Niklekaj | January 1, 2009

With 2009 here - what a better time to reminisce over 2008’s big celeb trends?

These are not your mother’s pearls. Double Strand Pearls made a statement in 2008, adding a classic piece to edgy looks like Ashlee Simpson, Sarah Jessica Parker and Gwyneth Paltrow.

She’s all legs. Though some of us might run screaming in the other direction from wearing skin tight leggings- Not Rihanna, Heidi Klum and Ashley Olson. These fashionistas show off their good fortune in shiny, latex leggings that leave hardly anything to the imagination.

Navy Dresses. Always sleek and sophisticated, Anne Hathaway, Reese Witherspoon and Claire Danes sparkle in these sapphire dresses.

I love scarves, pashminas and this trend! Heidi Montag, Jennifer Aniston, Eva Longoria Parker amped up the basic tote with fun and useful patterned scarves. Take note 2009-this trend is to stay!

Gladiator heels were a big 2008 trend.  Ashley Olsen, Emmanuelle Chriqui and Heidi Klum wear a stylish of the strappy heel.

Blazers over dresses offered a chic and stylish way to cover up flirty dresses.  Julianne Moore, Gwyneth Paltrow and Whitney Port still look cool and fashionable in their fitted blazers.

Jessica Simpson Talks Kids

By Tiffany Wilbert | September 6, 2008

Singer Jessica Simpson talks about her desires for the future with Fox News.   “I have the dreams of every normal person,” she said in a recent interview.

Her younger sister Ashlee Simpson’s pregnancy has no doubt provoked Jess to have babies on her mind.  Seemingly excited for the new addition to the family, Jessica said “I want to be a great aunt.”

She went on to discuss her own dreams of family.  “I would love to be making records and making babies,” Jessica said.  “And hopefully I’m married in 10 years.”

Jessica is currently dating Tony Romo of the Dallas Cowboys football team.  “Tony understands me,” she said in the September issue of Elle.  “He appreciates my talent.  He’s the first person I’ve spiritually connected with.”

In the meantime, she is working on her country music album, “Do You Know”, which comes out next week September 9.

Maternity Fashion: Ashlee Simpson-Wentz Style

By Randi Niklekaj | September 1, 2008

This mamma to be certainly has not let pregnancy take away her fun, funky and punk fashion. Simpson-Wentz stays chic and trendy and maintains her fresh, rocker edge, People Magazine reports.

Here in this leopard print head band, her fav black skinny jeans and a loose black tank with lengths of gold around her neck, Simpson-Wentz hangs out with Miley Cyrus at the taping of the MTV FNMTV.

In her signature pregnancy look, Simpson-Wentz rocks oversized aviators and a long, flowing black-n-white Indah maxidress.  She certainly is a funky mom to be.

I told you this girl loves maxidresses. Here she is again in a bright Juicy Couture with Coach Sandals staying cool and chic at lunch with hubby Pete.

She also keeps it sexy with these towering tan platforms, oversized gold chain necklace and a black slim minidress, supporting husband Pete’s at the opening of his new bar in Chicago.

All mothers have their own maternity must haves, for Ashlee Simpson-Wentz its rocker mom.
