Celebrity Holiday Vacations
Now that it’s the Holidays, where are the top celebrities going to celebrate? Most are staying local, going on trips throughout the U.S, but some are venturing out too.
Where are the celebs being spotted spreading some Holiday cheer? Since Thanksgiving it seems that everyone has taken a trip to the Big Apple. NYC is the #1 holiday destination so far. Miley Cyrus, Will Smith and family, John Mayer, Kristen Stewart, and Reese Witherspoon are just a few of the famous folks celebrating in NY.

Skiing has been another popular way to spend the Holidays with Gwen Stefani and son Kingston in Deer Valley and the Clintons at Camp David all spending quality time with the family.

Las Vegas has been a place of Holiday celebration for stars Benji Madden and Kelly Carlson. Carlson was spotted shopping at the Palazzo Shoppes.

Out of the country it seems that Dubai is the place to go. Mischa Barton, Lily Allen and Mary-Kate Olsen were all seen at the grand opening for Atlantis in Dubai.

And visiting Brazil puts Matthew McConaughey and Camila Alves into the Holiday spirit.

Wherever the destination, it looks as if Hollywood celebrities will have a positively fabulous holiday vacation!

Las Vegas is cleaning up its act—literally—with the opening of bathhouse-inspired restaurant and nightclub Lavo. With Black Eyed Peas Will.i.am at the DJ booth and a surprise performance from Busta Rhymes, the club debuted with a long list of celebrity guests.

Among the slew of stars to partake in the opening on September 13 included Scarlett Johansson’s fiancé Ryan Reynolds, former Mr. Spears Kevin Federline, 90210 star Shannen Doherty, a frisky Mario Lopez with a mystery brunette, and exes Kevin Connolly and Nicky Hilton.

In Latin, ‘lavo’ means to bathe, therefore fitting that the Mediterranean styled space features water basins and mosaic tiling. The 4500 square foot nightclub features DJs Vice, Reach, Galleano and Berrie with a six nights a week from 10 PM to 5 AM.
Lavo is the newest nightclub from the innovators who brought Las Vegas Tao, another celebrity-friendly venue. You can find Lavo housed within the luxurious Palazzo Resort and Casino. This is the club to wash away your sins.

Not Your Typical Night at the Opera
Forget your viewing glasses and black and white refinery at home; this is a different kind of Opera.
Another David Judaken production and formerly known as Mood, this venue is an upscale destination located on Hollywood Boulevard and Schrader on Los Angeles.

Most recently, the celeb-heavy club was featured on MTV phenomenon show, The Hills.

Lauren Conrad and her cohorts aren’t the only hot Hollywood figures to hit this venue; Paris Hilton, Travis Barker, Britney Spears, Leonardo DiCaprio, Kevin Connelly and Tyson Beckford, all pack a star-powered punch on any given night of the week.
Expect to encounter the paparazzi gauntlet on your way to the velvet rope.
True to it’s theme, Opera serves up signature drinks like The Fat Lady Sings and The Phantom. Average drink prices are about $12.

Opera also shares an entrance with its next-door neighbor, the more rock-and-roll Crimson. Together, these venues can be hired for private parties to accommodate a combined 700 partygoers. Opera was host of this year’s US Weekly’s annual Hot Hollywood awards.

Positively Star-Studded Summer Destinations
Fiji
Known for it’s great beaches, relaxation and surfing, Fiji is a celebrity favorite, ABC News reports. The island is also secluded, offering privacy from press and paparazzi. In fact, Fiji is famous for “hiding” celebrities from the peering eye of the camera.

Fiji’s luxurious Wakaya Club features a small, eco-friendly “world apart” experience. It’s a “green” full-service spa and hotel, where stars can get pampered. Visitors like Tom Cruise, Penelope Cruz, Demi Moore and Oprah have all sunbathed on the hot white beaches of Fiji.

Hawaii
Closer to home for L.A. celebrities, the islands have been a huge attraction this summer, ABC news says.

Helen Hunt, with director beau Matthew Carnahan, played golf, went horse back riding and took in the romantic Hawaii sunsets.

Julia Roberts visited Maui with husband Danny Moder and children Phinnaeus and Hazel in May. Australian actress, Isla Fisher and fiancé Sacha Baron Cohen with 10-month-old Olive vacationed on the Island, playing in waves.
It’s not just a place for families though, High School Musical starlet, Ashley Tisdale celebrated her 23rd birthday with dancer boyfriend Jared Murillo here.
Pierce Brosnan and Kelsey Grammer both own houses in Hawaii and often visit their home away from homes.

As much as I love Jon Stewart and Comedy Central’s The Daily Show, I think it might be tough for Stewart to reconcile his connection to the common man while residing at the hippest hotel in the Twin Cities during the Republican National Convention next week.

Rooms go for $400 and up at the brand new W Minneapolis - The Foshay, where it’s been reported Stewart will be staying. This hotel hotspot touts Manny’s Steakhouse and the Keys Cafe, along with a 30th floor open-air perch to view all 360 degrees of Minneapolis. The Foshay is even more highfalutin than the spot McCain and Co. will cool their heels - The St. Paul Hotel.
Jon, you can’t help that you are a multi-millionaire, living the good life. Our welcome mat is out for you, Jon, here in the Twin Cities. As long as you keep us laughing at your funny fake news we will consider you to be one of us.

R. Kelly might rap about the party in the hotel lobby, but this summer the party is located a few stories higher. Under its iconic neon-red sign and city skyline as the backdrop, The Empire Hotel now boasts one of the few non-residential rooftop pool decks in the city which doubles as a posh open-air lounge by night, playing host to several New York elite and A-listers.

Perhaps one of the upper west side’s best-kept secrets of the summer (the venue only launched May 1) the popularity of the newly renovated rooftop bar has skyrocketed in a New York minute.
New York royalty such as rap-mogul/entrepreneur Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, designer Zac Posen, and Yankee Alex Rodriguez all have been spotted socializing among the intimate (150 max occupancy) crowd.
A ‘rooftop’ bar may sound like a seasonal venue, but The Empire will capitalize on its retractable roof to enclose the 8,000 square foot venue and extend the party all year round.

Model-esque servers, better-than-most-looking bartenders, romantic ambiance, and the fantastic view create an indulgent and escapist out-of-city experience.
You’ll feel like a VIP without having to be a VIP, because cocktails are at the “NYC-affordable” $15 range. Try the Black Cherry Cosmo, it’s earned rave reviews…but the limited wine and beer list has not.
If you’re in NYC, check it out this urban oasis:
