There’s a new trio of crime-fighting hotties reporting to Charlie, including girl-of-the-moment Minka Kelly.
The former Friday Night Lights star is currently Esquire’s ‘Sexiest Woman Alive’, and she’s starring in The Roommate, in theaters next weekend. Next up? Minka has signed on for ABC’s new spin-off of Charlie’s Angels, to be produced by former Angel Drew Barrymore! According to Deadline Hollywood, the role of the Marisa, a former Marine weapons expert, will be re-named, re-written and tailored perfectly to Minka.
Alongside Minka will be gorgeous blonde Aussie Rachael Taylor as Abby, a con artist and Krav Maga expert. What is Krav Maga, you ask? According to it’s Wikipedia page, it’s a ‘hand-to-hand combat system developed in Israel…known for it’s extremely brutal and efficient counter-attacks…” (Krav Maga made headlines recently when Ashton Kutcher told Men’s Fitness magazine that learning Krav Maga was part of his preparation to defend and save his family during the end of the world).
Rachael Taylor’s most memorable role to date was a small part in Transformers in 2007, but her newest role is on Grey’s Anatomy as Dr. Lucy Fields.
Annie Ilonzeh was the first of the ladies to be cast, and will star as Kate. She’s best known for her time spent on General Hospital, but has also been seen on Entourage.
The newest installment of Angels will take on crime in Miami. What do you think of the new cast, and location? If the pilot is half has good as these girls are gorgeous, the show could be a breakout hit for ABC during the 2011-12 television season.

While promoting her new movie, Drew Barrymore looks effortlessly stylish in Anda & Masha hats.
The Going the Distance star has been spotted twice wearing pieces from the ultra trendy hat company. Whether sporting the gunmetal studded and rope embellished “Keith” hat or the ribbon trimmed “Stevie” hat, Drew is always casual and chic.

Instead of talking about the Harry Potter’s, 2012’s or The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus’s of 2009 that are so far away from hitting theaters it seems like they won’t premiere until … well 2012, we’re going to look at five upcoming flicks that will be at a theater near you before the Obama’s have time to fully move in.
Bride Wars – Opening January 9, 2009. There’s nothing like sharing wedding plans with a best girlfriend, but when plans start to overlap, it’s likely to evoke more nightmares than Freddy Krueger. “Wars” seems to have a bouquet of comedic potential as well as girls in white dresses – fighting. But before all the guys zone out this movie does offer something for them too. Two of the prettiest actresses in Hollywood – Anne Hathaway and Kate Hudson.
Taken – Opening January 30, 2009. Staring Liam Neeson as an ex-Secret Agent who has to rescue his estranged daughter (former “Lost” star Maggie Grace) who was kiddnapped while in Paris. As reviewer Mr. Green from CrimeCritics.com describes, “it’s a film in which you enjoy watching HOW he will succeed. And let me state, you will enjoy every punch Bryan (Neeson) delivers to every henchmen.”
Fanboys – Opening February 6, 2009. I think “Fanboys” will be the “Superbad” of 2009. Yes, it’s about a group of “Star Wars” fans set to break into George Lucas’ business headquarters, Skywalker Ranch, and steal a copy of “Star Wars Episode 1.” Before you groan at the sound of a Sci-Fi movie, know that it’s really a coming of age story about friends who take a huge risk for one of their own. To lend some credibility, Producers include Kevin Spacey and the Weinstein Company.
He’s Just Not That Into You – Opening February 9, 2009. This chick flick makes the list because: 1) it’s based on a NY Times Best Seller, Oprah endorsed book and 2) EVERYONE is in it. That’s no exaggeration. Here’s just some of the cast: Ginnifer Goodwin (Big Love), Jennifer Aniston, Jennifer Connelly (The Day The Earth Stood Still), Scarlett Johansson, Drew Barrymore, Ben Affleck, Justin Long (Mac commercials), Bradley Cooper (Wedding Crashers), Sasha Alexander (Yes Man), Kevin Connolly (Entourage), and MANY others.
Push – Opening February 9, 2009. Dakota Fanning, Chris Evans and Djimon Hounsou star in this film about “psychic espionage.” A Government agency is genetically modifying people to have psychic abilities and “getting rid” of those who don’t want to participate. Fanning and Evans need to find an individual who could help end the dangerous agency. So, Government Misconduct + Exotic Location (Hong Kong) + Psychic, Telekinetic, Move Stuff With Your Mind Abilities + The Cinematographer Who Did “Donnie Brasco,” “Gangster No. 1,” “Wicker Park” & “Lucky Number Slevin” = A Must See Movie!
Diane Lane and Richard Gere teamed up once again for “Nights in Rodanthe,” which opened last weekend, but they’re not the only actors who can’t get enough of working with each other. From present day to Old Hollywood couples – and even some silly boys in between- here’s a look back at some of our favorite on-screen pairs.
Katharine Hepburn and Spencer Tracy: This classic old Hollywood duo was off-screen and on-screen couples. In their nine films together, including Woman of the Year and Adam’s Rib, they became notorious for their battle-of-the-sexes theme.
Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton: Doing things just once was clearly not enough for Taylor and Burton. Not only did they marry twice, they appeared in 12 movies together some of which include Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, Cleopatra and The Taming of the Shrew.
Ginger Rogers and Fred Astaire: Rumor has it they hated each other off-screen, but you couldn’t tell from watching them dance away in their ten musicals they made together including Top Hat and Shall We Dance.
Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks: If Hanks wasn’t married to Rita Wilson, he should be married to Ryan. Time and time again America’s sweethearts have made us all believe in fairy tale endings with their undeniable chemistry in Joe Versus the Volcano, Sleepless in Seattle and You’ve Got Mail.
Drew Barrymore and Adam Sandler: Whether she’s a waitress and he’s a heartbroken wedding singer in the 80s themed The Wedding Singer or she has short-term memory loss and he has to romance her every day in 50 First Dates, Barrymore and Sandler are the cutest and funniest recurring couple.
Diane Lane and Richard Gere: Three movies, three very different roles. They were young musicians in love during the jazz age in The Cotton Club, a suburban couple in a troubled marriage in Unfaithful and two middle-aged strangers who strike up a romance in Nights in Rodanthe.
Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson: Who says the movie’s best on-screen couples have to be a man and a woman? These silly real life best friends have made us laugh again and again in The Cable Guy, Meet the Parents, Meet the Fockers, Night at the Museum, The Royal Tenenbaums, Starsky & Hutch and Zoolander.
Julia Roberts and George Clooney: Hollywood’s current classiest actors have made one of Hollywood’s current classiest couples in Confessions of a Dangerous Mind and all three Ocean’s movies.
Jack Nicholson and Diane Keaton: Film icons like Nicholson and Keaton were bound to end up in some movies together during their long reigns in Hollywood. They played a couple in the romantic comedy, Something’s Gotta Give and starred together in Warren Beatty’s epic Reds.
