Call it a chick flick if you will, but “Something Borrowed” is something you’ll want to see! Read on for why!
The talented and charming cast were the perfect balance of funny and romantic. Ginnifer Goodwin leads the cast as the lovable good girl and lawyer, Rachel. Kate Hudson plays Darcy, her very blond and very wild best friend. Darcy is engaged to Dex, otherwise known as Colin Egglesfield, a gorgeous former model and soap star with chiseled cheekbones and abs (swoon!). In the movie, Dex is also a lawyer. Bringing the funny is John Krasinski as Ethan, good friend to Rachel and the funniest guy in the film!
Rachel (Ginnifer Goodwin) becomes the center of the story when after her 30th birthday, (a tough one for all of us gals, for sure!), she admits to Dex, (her best friend Darcy’s fiance, remember) that she had a crush on him years ago in law school. And then of course, he kisses her and they sleep together. Naturally.
Things get more and more complicated as Rachel lets herself fall for Dex, who is getting married very soon! And Dex is still very much in a relationship with Darcy (Kate Hudson). And then of course Darcy introduces Dex’s friend Marcus to Rachel, hoping to help her single friend, which makes Dex jealous. And Ethan (John Krasinski) is being the voice of reason and a good friend, but really, guys are never “friends” with women without a hidden agenda, right? It all adds up to one thing…drama!
The movie worked because the characters were so well written and acted (by some of my favorites, might I add! Shout out to Kate and John!) The story also seemed real and accessible, not contrived and impossible. And Colin Egglesfield will make you drool.
This romantic comedy delivers a story you’ll love and a cast worth that ticket price. Grab your girlfriends and head to the movies! This is definitely one for the ladies, but a good one!

It’s wedding mania this summer and a slew of beautiful International celebrities have officially set the date.
Lily Allen will wear a dress by Karl Lagerfeld at her wedding on June 11 in Gloucestershire, England. Rumur has it that Lily’s sisters Teddy and Sarah are also wearing Chanel gowns!
Sadly Lily Allen is having a bit of bad luck when it comes to invites… First the ‘save the date’ cards that the British singer and her fiancé Sam Cooper designed were leaked to the press by a guest and now she feels snubbed that she did not receive an invite to the Royal wedding. She tweeted, “Well, you can quote me as ‘outraged’. Why does bloody Joss Stone get an invite and not moi?”
Even though the Royal Wedding festivities are officially over, another Kate is gettin’ hitched! Kate Moss is marrying long-term boyfriend Jamie Hince of the Kills. The pair have had a will-they-or-won’t-they romance and although they are being secretive about the location of their July 2 wedding, La Moss has revealed that her old friend John Galliano is designing her dress.
The British press are unkindly putting the two Kates head-to-head in a bride style war, but I think the two couldn’t be further apart. Kate Moss is said to have planned a mini-Glasto festival style wedding which I imagine will be far more rock-n-roll that the Royal wedding…even if London based DJ Sam Young is on the decks at the palace!
And finally, congratulations to yet another Kate! Kate Hudson announced her engagement to Muse’s Matt Bellamy. (Maybe the wedding fever got to her finally). Kate Hudson, who is pregnant with the Brit’s baby, said on the Graham Norton show earlier in the year that she didn’t think marriage “was necessary”.
I’m very happy you changed your mind, another dress I can’t wait to see!

Are you the plain-Jane type who sticks to the basics? Or are you the one who doesn’t know when too much is really too much?
It’s time to find your happy medium when it comes to the frills, the jewels and the bling.
Your outfit may be right, but if the accessories aren’t… then the outfit is all wrong. Remember less is sometimes more when your outfit is already stealing the spotlight.
Bold, bright and eye-catching jewels are considered statement pieces. They own the limelight so your outfit must take the back seat to your accessories. Never mix bold patterns and bright colors with overbearing jewelry.
Pick one or the other! Don’t over do it by wearing all the summers hottest trends at once. We have 365 days in a year so we don’t have to miss out on a single trend!
Instead of talking about the Harry Potter’s, 2012’s or The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus’s of 2009 that are so far away from hitting theaters it seems like they won’t premiere until … well 2012, we’re going to look at five upcoming flicks that will be at a theater near you before the Obama’s have time to fully move in.
Bride Wars – Opening January 9, 2009. There’s nothing like sharing wedding plans with a best girlfriend, but when plans start to overlap, it’s likely to evoke more nightmares than Freddy Krueger. “Wars” seems to have a bouquet of comedic potential as well as girls in white dresses – fighting. But before all the guys zone out this movie does offer something for them too. Two of the prettiest actresses in Hollywood – Anne Hathaway and Kate Hudson.
Taken – Opening January 30, 2009. Staring Liam Neeson as an ex-Secret Agent who has to rescue his estranged daughter (former “Lost” star Maggie Grace) who was kiddnapped while in Paris. As reviewer Mr. Green from CrimeCritics.com describes, “it’s a film in which you enjoy watching HOW he will succeed. And let me state, you will enjoy every punch Bryan (Neeson) delivers to every henchmen.”
Fanboys – Opening February 6, 2009. I think “Fanboys” will be the “Superbad” of 2009. Yes, it’s about a group of “Star Wars” fans set to break into George Lucas’ business headquarters, Skywalker Ranch, and steal a copy of “Star Wars Episode 1.” Before you groan at the sound of a Sci-Fi movie, know that it’s really a coming of age story about friends who take a huge risk for one of their own. To lend some credibility, Producers include Kevin Spacey and the Weinstein Company.
He’s Just Not That Into You – Opening February 9, 2009. This chick flick makes the list because: 1) it’s based on a NY Times Best Seller, Oprah endorsed book and 2) EVERYONE is in it. That’s no exaggeration. Here’s just some of the cast: Ginnifer Goodwin (Big Love), Jennifer Aniston, Jennifer Connelly (The Day The Earth Stood Still), Scarlett Johansson, Drew Barrymore, Ben Affleck, Justin Long (Mac commercials), Bradley Cooper (Wedding Crashers), Sasha Alexander (Yes Man), Kevin Connolly (Entourage), and MANY others.
Push – Opening February 9, 2009. Dakota Fanning, Chris Evans and Djimon Hounsou star in this film about “psychic espionage.” A Government agency is genetically modifying people to have psychic abilities and “getting rid” of those who don’t want to participate. Fanning and Evans need to find an individual who could help end the dangerous agency. So, Government Misconduct + Exotic Location (Hong Kong) + Psychic, Telekinetic, Move Stuff With Your Mind Abilities + The Cinematographer Who Did “Donnie Brasco,” “Gangster No. 1,” “Wicker Park” & “Lucky Number Slevin” = A Must See Movie!
Angelina Jolie wielded a gun in this summer’s action flick, “Wanted,” but the role also helped her get the most bang out of her buck. In The Hollywood Reporter’s list of highest-earning actresses released on Friday, Jolie came in at No. 1.
The Oscar winner, who was No. 2 last year, reportedly made $15 million for her assassin role in “Wanted” and could make $20 for the sequel.
It’s been almost 20 years since she burst onto the scene in “Pretty Woman,” but Julia Roberts proved she can still garner big money. She made the list at No. 2 for making $15 million for her upcoming film, “Duplicity.”
Other big movie stars of Robert’s caliber, however, didn’t make the cut this year. Nicole Kidman and Halle Berry are both Oscar winners like Jolie and Roberts but failed to garner a $10 million salary from any of their movies.
Last year’s highest-earning actress, Reese Witherspoon, slipped to No. 3 for earning $14 million for “Four Christmases,” which has been No. 1 at the box office for the past two weeks.
Cameron Diaz, Katherine Heigl (who made her debut on the list), Kate Hudson, Anne Hathaway and Jennifer Aniston, who made $8 million for the upcoming “Marley and Me,” rounded out the list.
Despite the power wattage from these actresses, the Y chromosome still helps to make the big bucks. Will Smith can make up to $25 million per movie and Brad Pitt can get up to $20 million.
Nevertheless, Shiloh et. al have some rich movie star parents.
Eva Mendes wore this belted, satin, silver number and it fits perfectly. The cinched waist and soft look show off her beautiful body and her fall fashion sense.
Elizabeth Banks at the Vera Wang show looks smooth, sexy, and sophisticated in this chic black dress.
Former “Office” star, Rashida Jones, has caught Sarah Palin fever. The dark rimmed specs offer a great accessory and I think she looks smart and classy.
A girl never forgets…how to model. Molly Sims could still tackle the runway. Her skinny leg pants and loose. Peach top are a great contrast. Paired with chic heels and you’ve got fashion week.
Rachel Zoe and Kate Hudson dazzle and the opposite color contrast plays so well. Love, Love, Love Rachel’s bow to cinch the waist.
Always beautiful Liv Tyler absolutely radiates in this Oscar de la Renta dress. The color pairs nicely with her skin tone.
Meanwhile, Emma Roberts looks sweet and hip in this belted dress topped with a jean jacket.
The fashion forward Gossip girl, Leighton Meester screamed HOT! Hot pink that is. Never one to leave behind the drama, this Julie Haus dress sets off her lights locks and certainly makes eyes wander.
Poor Kate Hudson. She just can’t get a decent break lately. This time she’s on the receiving end of a lawsuit that lists 17 causes for bringing action against the star and David Babaii, with whom she’s developed an eco-friendly hair line.
The claim charges that Wildaid management, along with Hudson & Co., took the secret ingredients of the products to a competitor who agreed to produce them at reduced costs. The charges lists fraud, misappropriation of trade secrets and an entire plethora of other allegations too numerous to mention.
Look at the bright side, Kate: you still look good.
Would you like to sleep where Bono, Brad Pitt, Jennifer Aniston and Aerosmith have all laid their heads? Well, you can do just that at Los Angeles celebrity hotspot, “Hotel Sunset Marquis”, People Magazine reports.
The hotel offers a spa treatment, butler service, Bar 1200 and private villas surrounded by more than 4,000 plants and trees. A private in-house recording studio, “Night Bird,” allows rock ‘n roll gods to record any time. Bring your credit card; the private villas can cost as much as $7,000.
L.A. is also home to Kitson shopping boutique. This famous and unique experience offers everything from $2 toothpaste to $2,000 shirts. It also houses designers like Victoria Beckham, Paris Hilton and Gwen Stefani. Angelina Jolie and Sienna Miller have both shopped Kitson. It opens early and closes late for private A-list shopping sessions. No wonder Jessica Simpson once spent almost $12,000, People Magazine said.
Where to party in L.A.? Club Villa! This super-exclusive club has played host to Kid Rock, Justin Timberlake, David Beckham, Kate Hudson and Leonardo DiCaprio. Villa has the oldest liquor license in L.A. and Hollywood legends like Carey Grant used to stop by back in the day. But good luck getting in – the toughest door in town means you have to know one of the owners.
