Throughout the world, the Red Cross is a symbol for hope in times of struggle. Whether it be during war, national disasters or epidemics, the organization is quick to give aid to those who need it most, and even in the most dangerous locales does not hesitate to offer support.
The amount of good that the Red Cross does everyday is not lost on those in the entertainment industry, and celebrities from all over the country have joined together to help the Red Cross in any way that they can.
The American Red Cross National Celebrity Cabinet is a special “on-call” group of celebrities that help the organization by donating their time, skills, passion and energy for a one-year term. The current Cabinet consists of a whopping 40 celebrities who have agreed to be available for anything the Red Cross asks of them, and we here at Positively Celebrity are blown away by all of those who are giving back!
The current cabinet members include quite an amalgam of celebrities, including Josh Duhamel, Alyssa Milano, Greg Biffle, Pierce Brosnan, Jim Cantore, Jackie Chan, Chayanne, Jamie Lee Curtis, Miley Cyrus, Sara Evans, George Foreman, Leeza Gibbons, Amy Grant, Pat Green, Marcia Gay Harden, Patricia Heaton, Julianne Hough, Dwayne Johnson, Heidi Klum, Patti LaBelle, Demi Lovato, Eli and Peyton Manning, Marlee Matlin, Dr. Phil McGraw, Nate Berkus, Kristin Chenowith, Darius Rucker, Michael W. Smith, Nancy O’Dell, Masi Oka, Rascal Flatts, Amanda Peet, Sally Pressman, Elisabeth Rohm, Anika Noni Rose, Jane Seymour, Jimmy Smits, Raven Symone and Daddy Yankee.
These celebrities join the estimated 700,000 current Red Cross volunteers, and will bring countless smiles and support to those whose lives they touch while being a part of the National Celebrity Cabinet. All of us here at Positively Celebrity want to laud the members, both past and present, who have given back by joining forces with the Red Cross!

Hi dolls! Recently, a girlfriend was kind enough to send me this adorable kit from celebrity makeup artist Mally Roncal. The kit is called “Perfect Palette Total Face Kit”- and the name says it all!
Of course, I instantly loved it because well, I always love new makeup, and the set was just too cute with a sparkly carrying case! But, it wasn’t until I opened the included instruction booklet that I realized how amazing the little kit is!
In the booklet, Mally gives you simple, step-by-step instructions on how to create specific looks for different occasions like a pro! So it’s like having your own personal celebrity makeup artist! The looks include: Everyday Pretty, Fresh Sexy Glow, and Nighttime Glam! WOW! All these looks from this little kit? I’m in heaven!
Mally is a favorite among a versatile group of music industry heavyweights and actors including; Beyonce, Ashlee Simpson, Jennifer Lopez, and Hayden Panettiere!
It’s got all you need, complete with your own personal celebrity makeup artist, giving you tips! LOVE it!
Whether you’re new to makeup, or a seasoned pro – this kit is super handy! Really, the instructions are fool-proof. Also, it claims that anyone can wear these colors, regardless of skin tone… they all worked great for me!
The handy little kit is perfect for the girl-on-the go! It fits easily into a normal size purse and includes everything you could possibly need for any occasion. I highly recommend it!
Perfect Palette Total Face Kit includes: • Two blushes in Hula Girl, a sun-kissed natural; and Mally’s Baby, a perfect pink • Six eye shadows in Taupe, a deep, daytime shade; Terrific, a shimmery, festive taupe; Sensational, a rich, pearly charcoal; Mattebright, a pearl-free light shade; Brownies, a perfect neutral brown; and Plum Wicked, a rich plum • One lip color in French Kiss, a natural pink • One cream highlighter in Radiance, a touch of light color • One blush brush • One shadow brush • One liner brush • One sequined pouch
So, basically the only thing it doesn’t have is your foundation – which is so personal you wouldn’t want it coming in an all-in-one kit anyway.
My faves from the kit: I LOVE the highlighter! I use it everyday. And the blush in “Hula Girl.” – Mix those two together for the perfect beachy glow. Also, the mirror is HUGE! It’s the largest mirror I own that fits in my purse – LOVE! – And, of course I die over the sparkly case.
So, I just had to tell you all about my exciting new find! I’m so in love with it right now.
Oh yea, you can find this and other great products by Mally by visiting: www.Mallybeauty.com or by checking for specials on QVC: www.qvc.com/mally
Be sure to check back often for all my beauty tips, tricks, and finds!
Peace, Love, and Sexiness!

These new artists will be rocking our music worlds this year! Check them out!
PIA TOSCANO
I have a confession. I haven’t watched an American Idol episode in its entirety this season. So when my Facebook news feed was filled with statuses that read, “Pia’s gone…unbelievable!” and “Won’t be watching now that Pia’s off!,” I had to figure out why this chic was such a big deal. Thanks to YouTube and her slew of talk show appearances, I, too, fell under the trance of make-up artist turned Idol outcast turned the next-big-thing-since-Jennifer Hudson, Pia Toscano.
She has the vocal strength of a young Whitney, classic beauty comparable to Carrie Underwood, and the sophistication of a Miss America contestant (not to be confused with Miss USA…fyi).
The spotlight was already shining brightly on Pia because of her talent, and now that she’s media’s new obsession, Pia can bank on — well, laughing all the way to the bank – as her music career goes from 0 to 160. Rumor mill has it that Interscope is courting Pia and that she’ll release her debut single soon. Idol who?
CRIS CAB
Move over, Biebs. There’s a new, barely-legal heart throb taking over the music scene. And his name is too bad he’s still in high school Cris Cab.
Infusing hip hop, reggae, and pop, the Miami native has famed producer, Pharrell, in his corner as he works on his debut album.
In his video for recent release, “Good Girls,” Cab looks like he could be John Mayer’s long lost little bro, and his tone, voice inflections, and lyrics are eerily similar to those of Wyclef Jean.
Looking forward to Cris Cab’s takeover!
INTERCEPT
Their song, “Rest of My Days,” is featured on the popular Jam Party video game. They’ve played Austin’s Red Gorilla Fest 3 consecutive years. Their inboxes are flooded with fan mail requesting Skype lessons to learn how to play their music. And despite thriving success, the four hotties that make up indie rock band, Intercept, are 4 of the most humble musicians ever!
I had the honor of crashing one of their studio sessions, and the quality of their songs in person sounds as perfect it does on the radio or on television. The group - Christian Knudsen (Lead Vocals / Rhythm Guitar), Jeff Knudsen (Lead Guitar), Jason Weiner (Drums) and Phil Romo (Bass) – has an extremely busy summer ahead as their tour includes shows in Nevada and throughout southern and northern California.
Intercept’s music has also been featured on ESPN, MTV’s The Real World, and the Ghost Whisperer. And in a time when mediocre music dominates airwaves, it’s the kind of music you pray to hear when you turn on your radio. Stay updated on Intercept news by following their pages – Facebook.com/intercepttheband, @Intercept1 on Twitter, and http://www.mspace.com/interceptmusic.
Veteran television personality Katie Couric has been announced to launch a new syndicated talk show in 2012, as reported by The Associated Press.
Couric, a decorated journalist who is currently the anchor and managing editor of the CBS Evening News, a correspondent for 60 Minutes and also hosts a web series on CBSNews.com, has been in discussions for her own talk show for quite some time.
With Oprah Winfrey announcing her upcoming retirement, Couric is another of several high profile journalists to throw their hat into the talk show ring. CNN’s Anderson Cooper has a show starting soon, and Martin Bashir’s talk show debuted on MSNBC in March.
The 54-year-old Couric, a mother of two, will be leaving her position with the CBS Evening News after nearly five years in June when her current contract expires. Couric currently earns $15 million a year with CBS, where she was first sole female anchor of a network newscast in history.
One person who definitely does not want Couric to leave her post is David Letterman, who last month told her “There’s a period of adjustment to get accustomed to the trust and build up faith in the character of the person presenting the news. And then you can’t just pull the rug out from under the viewers.”
Unfortunately for Dave, a CBS executive speaking under the veil of anonymity has confirmed that Couric will be out as soon as her contract expires, ending her hosting duties for the show.
With the void that Oprah will leave upon her retirement, a perky, personable and eloquent talk show host should be able to thrive and draw strong ratings; known as “America’s Sweetheart,” Couric fits this profile perfectly. With her strong background that has seen her work for CNN, NBC and CBS, coupled with her great attitude, incredible work ethic and vibrant personality, Couric is a shoe-in for success.
All of us here at Positively Celebrity are proud of Katie Couric for not only her on screen success, but also her behind the scenes work she does for cancer awareness and prevention, and wish her nothing but the best in her last few months at CBS and in all her future endeavors! We will be watching Katie’s new talk show, and can’t wait to see her conquer another media hosting opportunity!

Soooo…I went rock climbing for the very first time last week. And you’re thinking, “So what?” Well, the WHAT is that, during the climb, there was an awesome playlist on repeat. And when I asked whose songs were on the list, my instructor said, “Oh, New Pony Club, Peaches, you know, stuff like that.”
You know me…as soon as I got home (well, after I iced my limbs from the impossible rock-wall workout), the downloading party was in full effect! Some of the songs I had heard before, but some were new, secret treasures to me.
These songs have been on repeat in my house all week long … my poor neighbors.
How have I never heard this song before?!? “Downtown” by Peaches is genius! It has a very “Vanity 6″ kind of feel, and it has the kind of appeal to sound just as good 15 years from now as it did when first released 5 years ago!
Sexy, sexy, SEXY is Róisín Murphy and her 2007 single, “Primitive!”
She has a very Tina Turner-esque quality about her voice, and while Róisín’s a big name in Europe and in Australia, she’s certainly vocally gifted enough to make a splash on this side of the water.
Put all of New Young Pony Club’s songs in a hat, and no matter which one you pull out, it will be your favorite. Promise.
And since I’m positive you’ll have a difficult time choosing just one NYPC song to obsess over, below are 2 for your listening enjoyment.
Phoenix tops everyone’s indie/alternative rock, favorite bands list. Anytime is a good time for Thomas Mars’s unique vocals and the group’s French flare.
And if Phoenix is at the top, then MGMT certainly isn’t far behind. I liked MGMT’s most recent Congratulations album, but I will always regard “Time To Pretend” from their self-titled album and “Electric Feel” from Oracular Spectacular as MGMT’s best work!
I’m in a very syntho pop kind of mood. And I like it.

Hello lovelies!!
Spring is here, and whether you’re ready or not it’s time to show off those LEGS! Super short minis and short shorts are back in a BIG way – making legs the new cleavage! So, it’s time to sexify your legs for Spring -Here’s how!
1. Fake it ‘Till you Make It:
Ok, so Spring snuck up on us again and after being in hiding all Winter, perhaps our pasty white legs aren’t quite ready to come out of hibernation. Luckily, with tons of great self-tanning products on the market, we can fake that end-of-summer glow now and put our best legs forward!
A couple of my faves!:
Victoria’s Secret Flawless Airbrush Instant Body Spray ($12) for an easy tan in a INSTANT! Also available in lotion form!
Neutrogena Micro Mist Airbrush Tan - ($8.99)
*Tanning beauty tip: Exfoliate first! Remember before applying self-tanner you need to exfoliate! Any scrub from your local drug store will do. Just grab something with medium to large size crystals and scrub down while in the shower just before applying your self-tanner!
2. Work It Out!: Not only is it time to swap out our jeans to more leg-bearing pieces, but it’s also about time to pull out the swim suits…EEK!! So, there’s no better time to start getting back in shape than now!! I’ll soon be putting out my annual “Get Ready for Bikini Series” where we’ll get the whole body ready, but for now, let’s focus on those legs!
Be sure to spend at least 5-10 minutes a day on your legs and they’ll be runway worthy in no time! Squats, lunges and leg-lifts are “sure-things” for toning up legs fast! If you hate conventional exercise, a nice hike or up-hill stroll while on your lunch break also have great leg-toning benefits!
Kate Beckinsale working the lunges!
Don’t forget the cardio! Try to get in at least 30 minutes of cardio each day to slim legs, revealing those toned muscles you’ve been working on! Cardio can be fun – just gets your heart pumping! Dancing, cycling, and roller skating are all fun ways to fit in your daily cardio!
3. A Little Help From the Pros!: Endermologie (also known as LipoMassage or VelaSmooth) is all the rage in Hollywood for reducing cellulite and getting legs ready for their close-up! A few short visits to an Endermologie specialist can greatly improve the appearance of cellulite, tone skin, move toxins and even reduce fat! YAY! And it’s not just for the legs! Endermologie works wonders on all areas of the body including the stubborn love handles and tummy!
During an Endermologie session, you put on a sort of body stocking and the technician uses and electronic hand-held device with rollers and suction to massage your body using a special technique. This is like a super deep massage that not only makes you look smoother but can also be a relaxing treat! I am a HUGE fan of this treatment – I do it every year to prepare for bikini season!
*For smooth, dimple-free legs and butt, be sure to visit a specialist who has experience with the device for best results. If you’re in the Los Angeles area I HIGHLY recommend Chaffon at New Kingdom Beauty in North Hollywood. She is a genius at Endermologie, has quite the celebrity following, and I personally wouldn’t go anywhere else! Be sure to tell her Angie O sent you!
Chaffon: 818-703-2430
4.Quick-Fix Tricks!: So, you want to go out TONIGHT and rock the super short mini or you got invited to a pool party and you are sooo not ready!! Don’t worry! There are a number of “quick-fixes” to fake perfection at a moment’s notice!
Ok my beauty junkies, now hike up those skirts a little more and work your hotness!
Be sure to check back here at Positively Celebrity often as I’ll be back with hot tips to get you ready for bikini season as well as Spring/Summer Beauty trends and must-haves!
Peace, Love, and Sexiness!

Music that inspires. “Sign of the Times” music. Fall in love music.
The amazing thing about music is that, no matter what’s going on in life, there’s always a song or lyric that expresses exactly how you feel. So, my Music loving peeps…it’s another edition of Music to Match Your Mood.
Mood: Hopeful Reason: The united front to help Japan!
Japan’s suffering has touched the heart of the world. In the wake of a massive earthquake and the subsequent tsunami, the outpouring of donations and fundraising efforts proves that humanity still exists.
The musicians who came together for 1986’s “We Are the World” created a song that is as relevant in 2011. Songs like this remind me that “no man is an island” and that it takes international love and support to overcome disaster.
Mood: Love and LOVED Reason: Because anytime is a good time for love
I’ve been in an extra gushy, lovey-dovey mood lately! Let’s blame that on the changing of the seasons or on the fact that my spring and summer calendars are booked with weddings to attend. At any rate, the symphony I hear when I’m on Cloud 9 of Love is…well, it’s not really a symphony. It’s Lloyd’s cute new single, “Cupid.”
Mood: Irritated Reason: Gloomy weather
I can’t stand the rain!!! No, really, I can’t. And there has been a lot of rain here in LA lately and across the nation. I know you’re probably saying, “Rain makes you appreciate the sun.” Interestingly enough, I’m one of those people who doesn’t need rain to know I LOVE the sun. The rain – it messes up your hair, your outfits, and your beach plans that you didn’t even know you had. I’m going to be “supa dupa fly” and keep dry indoors.
Mood: Disheartened Reason: Political unrest throughout the world
We love U2 because they are awesome rockers who actually care about the welfare of the world. Since forever, the band members have vocalized anti-war sentiments through music. ”Sunday Bloody Sunday” is one of those anti-war hits, and it asks, ”How long must we sing this song?” With continued unrest in the Middle East and the latest uprisings in Libya, we should all ask ourselves this question.
Mood: Fiesty Reason: Painting the town red HOT PINK
Nothing sparks my party mood like Dev’s “Bass Down Low.” I, too, like my beats fast and my bass down low. Great minds think alike.
Mood: Antsy Reason: So much to do, so little time to do it when Facebook and Twitter beckon
Procrastination … just what the doctor ordered when I’m feeling overwhelmed! When I tire of Facebooking, I can always count on music videos to stand between me and my to-do list. And Young the Giant’s video for “My Body” and procrastination are co-conspirators.
I’m fascinated with how the guy is chasing his doppelganger through the city and with Sameer Gadhia’s perfect teeth and with the “We Buy Gold” shirt a pedestrian is wearing in the background. Then I have to watch it again because I think I see someone I recognize, and then when the doppelganger escapes into the painting at the end, I have an “A-ha!” moment, so I have to start all over because now I think I get it. To-do list? What to-do list?
What music best describes your mood today?
The gang of the raunchy teen comedy American Pie are teaming up once again for a new installment of the series!
The cast of the first three American Pie films (Chris Klein, Mena Suvari, Eugene Levy, Jason Biggs, Tara Reid, Allison Hannigan, Thomas Ian Nicholas and the hilarious Sean William Scott as Stifler) are reuniting for the fourth theatrical installment of the lucrative franchise, tentatively entitled American Reunion.
The franchise, which has grossed over $750 million worldwide for Universal from the first three movies alone, will be written and directed by Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg, who collaborated previously on Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay.
American Reunion will catch up with Jim and the gang at their 10 year high school reunion. Lots has happened to the group in the decade since their graduation from East Great Falls High School, including one character becoming a reality television show star, another an international world traveler and one a YouTube celebrity!
American Reunion will undoubtedly be full of scenes that will make us laugh, cringe and maybe even tear up a bit. The movie is estimated to be released for 2012, and will surely be one of the biggest hits of next summer!
All of us here at Positively Celebrity can’t wait to be updated on how Jim, Oz, Stifler and the gang have been spending the last decade, and couldn’t be more excited on the news of American Reunion!
And be sure to check back for more of the latest celebrity news and features from Richard Munassi right here at Positively Celebrity!
Boxing legend Muhammad Ali’s Celebrity Fight Night XVII was an astounding success on March 19 in Phoenix, and helped to raise over $6.6 million to benefit the Muhammed Ali Parkinson Center. The star studded event has now raised a staggering total of over $70 million over its 17 year history.
This year’s Celebrity Fight Night in Phoenix brought a broad mix of celebrities, sports athletes and VIP donors to the J.W. Marriott Desert Ridge Resort & Spa in Phoenix, Arizona, for a night to remember. On hand were (just to name a few) stunning race car driver Danica Patrick, actor Billy Crystal, the top 11 finalists from this season’s American Idol television show (who performed an incredible Michael Jackson medley), Rob Thomas, Bret Michaels, Kevin Costner and Halle Berry.
The annual event has brought together people from all walks of life for a night in honor of Muhammad Ali, with incredible live auction items as well as musical performances from the best in the business. This year was one of the best in the event’s history, with auctions such as a private dinner with country music star and actress Reba McEntire at her Beverly Hills home which went for $800,000, a dinner in Los Angeles with Billy Crystal and Limitless star Robert De Niro (a great movie which is out now!) which sold for $400,000, and a one week stay on Eustatia Island, a private island located off the coast of Virgin Gorda in the British Virgin Islands!
Halle Berry, Academy Award winning star of Swordfish and Monster’s Ball, received the Muhammad Ali Celebrity Fight Night Entertainer Award, and also a hug and a kiss from the legendary pugilist. Former NBA and NFL owner Red McCombs received the Muhammad Ali Celebrity Fight Night Humanitarian Award, and Cristie Kerr, the top ranked women’s golfer in the world, received the Sports Achievement Award. Go Daddy CEO and Founder Bob Parsons received the Muhammad Ali Celebrity Fight Night Entrepreneur Award, and Parsons himself donated $1,000,000 to the organization as well as purchased over $1,000,000 in auction items at the event.
Gorgeous former American Idol winner and Grammy award winning singer Kelly Clarkson closed out the incredible evening with a multiple song performance that brought the house down. “I had such an amazing weekend! I got the chance to be a part of Fight Night in Arizona and I had such a great time! I can’t wait to come back next year! I made some new friends with some big hearts and it was just a very inspiring weekend. Please find a few charities and/or causes and give your time, heart and/or money because we are all so blessed even when we think we’re not,” the 28 year old singer said of the event.
All of us here at Positively Celebrity are amazed at the amount of donations that the Muhammad Ali Celebrity Fight Night event has brought in over the years, and can’t wait to see what stars will strut their stuff on the red carpet in Phoenix next year!
